Developed with renowned chef Niall Keating, this vibrant gin is named after a 19th Century fruit-carrying cargo ship and has been inspired by its exotic cargo of fruits from all over the world. The first gin to be made using kombucha as a liquid botanical, this is an avant-garde tipple that should be in the collection of every true gin fanatic.
Devon, England
Macedonian juniper, blood orange kombucha, Chinese black dates, Asian pears, perilla leaves, Japanese salted plums, Sencha Sakura tea, fresh lime peel, kaffir lime leaf and orris root.
On the nose, toasted citrus and ripe orchard fruit notes are met by a touch of plum-fragranced salinity, rich black tea, juniper and hint of hops reminiscent of a good Californian IPA. The palate has a unique tang from the kombucha and a subtle sweetness that’s balanced with warm spice tones. The finish has a delectable, umami smokiness that is lifted by bright, citrusy lime flavours.
Serve with a premium tonic water and garnish with a slice of pear.
